Five New Wines!

Clara Benegas White Wine (Chardonnay-Sauvignon Blanc)
Year 2010
Blended Wine
South America Region
Argentina
Price: $10.95
Shop Review: Elaborated with grapes from vineyards located in the province of Mendoza. This delicious, natural, you and fresh wine is a result of careful control of the vineyard and the morning harvest of the over ripened Chardonnay grapes.
My Review: I tried this wine without any food pairing. I agree that it was very fresh. It was also sweet with a slight floral taste and a hint of apricot. To contrast the floral, fruitiness, the wine was also slightly oaky and dry.

 Aveleda PraiaVinho Verde-White Wine
Blended Wine
Western Europe Region
Portugal
Price: $11.99
Winery Review: Praia comes from the region of Vinho Verde, which is known for producing fresh and light wines with well balanced acidity. These characteristics are the result of the region's unique soil and climate with a strong and identifiable Atlantic Influence. In Portuguese, Praia means beach, which best expresses these Atlantic characteristics.
My Review:  This wine is very light and refreshing. It is fruity with hints of pear while still being slightly floral. The two pair up to make this wine very delicious. I agree that there is a well balanced acidity in the wine. I didn't drink this wine with any food, but it would probably go deliciously with seafood or something light but savory.

Alice White Chardonnay
Year 2010
Varietal Wine
South Eastern Australia Region
Australia
Price: $7.09
Winery Review: This cherry Chardonnay greets the senses with the scent of fresh apple pie, giving way to delicate apple, pear, and melon flavors. Enticing when sipped on its own, or partnered with grilled veggies, creamy pastas, or chicken.
My Review: This is a very oaky Chardonnay and overall rich white wine. The apple pie taste overpowers any possible fruity flavors such as pear of melon, however there is a hint of honey. I did not drink this wine with any food.

Dellatorri Chianti
Year 2012
Varietal Wine
Western Europe Region
Italy
Price: $9.99
Winery Review: This rich wine has bright, cherry aromas and soft vanilla and berry fruit flavors. It is best served with fresh pasta and tomato, basil, and oregano based sauces.
My Review: This wine has a very smoky nose, but not a smoky taste. I disagree that it is a rich wine, it's on the lighter side for a red. There is dryness to it but also a nice cherry taste and a hint of raspberry.

Apothic Red
Year 2012
Blended Wine
North America Region
California, United States
Price: $8.99
Winery Review: A masterful blend of rich Zinfandel, smooth Merlot, flavorful Syrah, and bold Cabernet Sauvignon creates layers of dark red fruit complimented by hints of vanilla and mocha.
My Review: This wine mixes fruity and nutty flavors to make a delicious red blend. There's hints of cherry and raspberry mixed with flavors of walnut and chocolate. Ultimately, a very rich and tasty blended red wine.
